Congratulations to Shannon Sanzo!

Shannon was the recipient of the Ashtabula County Educator Impact Award. She was honored at a special dinner and ceremony.

Shannon has served on numerous committes, has several leadership roles in our district and in our building and is an exemplary intervention specialist. Principal Valerie Harper said of Sanzo, "I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award."

Our next episode of "Dragon 411" is now available. This week's broadcast features the High School State Wrestlers, the SkillsUSA Children's Services Project, LHS Van's Contest and a Guys and Dolls preview. You can view the video here.

This broadcast was completely student produced and throughout the year you will be able to see the new techniques we learn and refine in the High School's Interactive Media Class. Early Entrance to Kindergarten

Attention Parents considering Early Entrance to Kindergarten: Please plan to bring your child to Kindergarten registration. For the 2018-2019 school year, evaluations will be conducted the last week in April and the first week in May. Meetings with the Acceleration Committee and parents will be held on May 11. Please plan on a 30 minute meeting with the Ashtabula Area City School District Acceleration Committee. Parent attendance is required. Last Change to See Guys and Dolls

Lakeside's musical production of Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls comes to town. Based on a story and characters of Damon Runyon, these high school students bring the 30's back to life. With choreography by Meghann Stell and music performed by the Lakeside Orchestra Pit, directed by David P. Roth, you will be able to hear the music sung by Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando.

Pictured are Jacob McKee, playing Nathan Detroit, talking to his buddies Nicely-Nicely Johnson, played by Nathan Lowery, and Benny Southstreet, played by Marcus Lowery about running an illegal crap game. Dates of the show are March 23rd at 7:30 and March 24th at 2:00 and 7:30. Doors will open at 7:00 on Friday and Saturday and 1:30 on Saturday afternoon. General admission tickets are $7.00 and students and seniors are $5.00

Vernal Pools are small but very dynamic wetlands that blossom with life every spring to the accompaniment of a cacophony of sounds. They also play an important role in improving water quality, controlling flood waters, and providing habitat for wildlife. Join Ray Stewart, from the Ohio Wetlands Association, to learn more about these special pools, and how you can help monitor pools in your neighborhood. Please join us to discover vernal pools and their Hidden Wonders.
